So very disappointing

Was disappointed with the ambiance and the food. The bar was cold and unwelcoming and tables needed a good wipe. Omelette left a lot to be desired and and was luke warm as was cheese on toast which came with two very small pieces of bacon. So easy to do much better. Certainly no stars awarded on this visit

My fourth visit - the beer

My fourth visit - the beer is good but the menu becoming a bit boring now. Unconvinced about daily Chef's Special only being served at lunch - why not in the evening as well? Food OK, but by now the running-in period under new ownership should be complete, so maybe a bit more inspiration and flair wouldn't come amiss in the menu and the execution.

A recent supper under the

A recent supper under the new ownership was good. Fish and chips followed by rice pudding and apple crumble were just what was needed after a Friday evening drive down the A14. The chefs specials looked mouth-watering on the blackboard, but are currently only available at lunch. Doubtless the Watsons know their market, and allowance must be made for the fact that they had just started serving food the week we visited. A good initial experience and a follow up lunch visit is planned shortly, so watch this space!
