Restaurants in Orford
Eating Out in Alderton
If you live in Clapham or Finchley you might think it odd that the whole village of Alderton is buzzing with the news that the Swan Inn now has a wonderful new Indian restaurant with 'take away' service.
But imagine yourself in the heart of Suffolk, 8-miles from the ancient market town of Woodbridge, on the road which passes Sutton Hoo on its way to the coast at Bawdsey. It's true we have a great village shop and post office and a pub - The Swan - so we are well served, but a top notch indian as well; that's being spoilt.
The Crown and Castle
There has been a hostelry on the site of The Crown and Castle for around eight centuries, the original inn thought to be built into the walls of Orford castle. In fine weather you can sit on the terrace with a glass of wine and view the castle back-lit by the setting sun.
Butley-Orford Oysterage
Lovely seafood restaurant in the centre of Orford, specialising in oysters, smoked salmon & locally caught fish. Established over 30 years ago.
