The Blyth Hotel
A delightfully refurbished family run hotel just 5 minutes walk from Southwold's famous colourful beach huts or the town centre. Interior has been fully re-styled by Laura Ashley and Hudson Reed. Lovely relaxed dining offering simplistic english cuisine with a modern twist. A bright, fresh approach for this beautiful edwardian hotel. Minimum 2 night stay over weekend periods and a minimum 3 night stay over easter weekend and bank holiday weekends.

Really nice place with spacious rooms
Really nice place with spacious rooms, friendly staff, good menu and decent prices. It's highly likely I'll back in the summer.
We had a great stay here
We had a great stay here and would highly recommend. Food was excellent, staff attentive and the bar and restaurant had a lovely atmosphere. Rooms were really nice and clean. Southwold is a great place to get away from it all.
a fantastic stay in this quaint town
I stayed at the Blyth this January 2007 - a fantastic stay in this quaint town. Hotel is first class and I would highly recommend to anyone. Food excellent. We had a fantastic offer of £120.00 dinner, bed and breakfast in the Southwold Suite. Well worth a visit.
A really good find in such a lovely unspoilt town
A really good find in such a lovely unspoilt town I went with my girlfriend and would definitely recommend the Blyth. The staff and owners were very attentive and always chatting to us - we felt very welcome. A place like this is a gem in the corporate world of the Hyatt's etc. Book a package with dinner as the food is really very good - I don't think you will be disappointed.
We had a fabulous stay
How anyone can review this beautifully refurbished hotel as ghastly is completely beyond me. We had a fabulous stay with some of our family and couldn't fault the hotel in any way. Rooms and bathrooms are very stylishly appointed and super clean. They offer super surroundings at realistic prices, unlike many competitors in Southwold - we are regular visitors. Food excellent and service first class. I have to disagree with a previous reviewer - this hotel is nothing like the Randolph - this is professional hotel with caring proprietors. The Randolph lacks the style and attention to detail that the Blyth does so well.
The food was excellent
We went to the Hotel, for my sister's birthday. The food was excellent, and the staff were very friendly, and very obliging. We really like Southwold, yes it is like going back in time, but is that such a bad thing sometimes.
Just returned from another
Just returned from another excellent stay at the Blyth. This time we left the kids at home! Highly recommend it - can't wait to go back in the summer! As for a previous review - I tried the haddock dish and it was fantastic! Food at the Crown was weak in comparison and the service unfriendly and surley.
We had a fantastic stay. I
We had a fantastic stay. I highly recommend this hotel - lovely room, good food with a lovely atmosphere in the restaurant and super friendly staff. How anyone can rank this hotel 1 out of 10 is beyond me. We will definitely be reurning.
A charming hotel in a
A charming hotel in a beautiful unspoilt town. Southwold is like no place on earth, beautifully clean beaches and great shopping. We all really enjoyed our stay at the Blyth definitely the best value hotel in the town. We have stayed at the Swan and although it is also full of charm, the rates they are now charging do not offer the value for money that their smaller competitors do.
A top hotel in a charming
A top hotel in a charming seaside town. We really enjoyed our stay here taking advantage of the winter special offer - £100 a night dinner, bed and breakfast. I couldn't find fault with anything at the hotel. All the staff were lovely and the food in the restaurant was delicious - we will definitely be back.
A lovely hotel situated in a
A lovely hotel situated in a dreary resort well past it's sell by date. After walking around this ghastly village populated by throwbacks to the 1950s (with opinions to match)it was a pleasure to get back to this beautifully restored hotel which, ironically for Southwold, has a contemporary feel. Wish I would say the same for the rest of the place.
Take a standard 2 star
Take a standard 2 star seaside hotel, redecorate tastefully and to a high standard, provide high quality bedroom furniture and bathrooms, little luxuries such as bedroom television with 100+ channels, a first-rate chef and friendly welcoming staff, and you have the Blyth. Southwold is reminiscent of 1950s England, and if that is to your taste (as it was to ours) then this is the place for you.
The blythe has been
The blythe has been refurbished wonderfully with some really nice touches, moulton brown soaps and great decor, food was disapointing though and service quite patchy, the bar area was very quiet and no real character.
