Earsham Street Cafe

‘This buzzy little café … has ambience a-plenty and a queue out the door,’ according to the AA Restaurant Guide 2006, which has also recently awarded Earsham Street Café Two AA Rosettes for the quality of its modern brasserie style cooking. Well worth escaping the hordes on the coast for, it makes a welcoming pitstop at any time of day, especially at lunchtimes when it moves up a gear, definitely ‘more scallops than scones’. It has been featured on no less than four occasions in The Times weekly Top Ten Restaurants column in 2005 – 2007, recognised as a child friendly eatery and as a deli-café amongst other categories. One can expect the likes of sticky pork, spring onion and mango salad, rare tuna nicoise, pan fried sea bass with goats cheese, spinach & pine nut risotto, seared calves liver with local streaky bacon, truffle mash and sprouting broccoli, sticky toffee pudding with vanilla mascarpone, and citrus pannacotta with boozy cherries. Worth mentioning are the interesting good value wine list with lots by the glass, summery alfresco dining in the hidden courtyard, jazz dinners and great family Sunday lunches. Outside catering for stylish weddings and ‘at home' dining is a speciality.
