Electric Picture Palace
Created in 2002, but designed in 1912 theatrical style by architect John Bennett RIBA, Southwold’s award-winning 68 seat Electric Picture Palace shows an eclectic mix of films in four seasons each year. It has a rising ‘Tiny Wurlitzer’ cinema organ, a Circle, a Kiosk, second features, usherettes, a commissionaire and the National Anthem - all in the cause of recreating ‘The Pictures’. It is run by the Southwold Film Society, which you can join for £5 a year (or only £2 a season). Tickets are £5 Stalls, £6 Circle. To join, book, or find out more, call: 07815 769565.
