Since 1989, the beautiful 16th century Castell farm and stables have been the home of M.D.Cannell Antiques and East India Trading. The large showrooms house an extraordinary array of rugs and textiles from Persia and Afghanistan, where they rub shoulders with antiques and furniture from Britain and Europe. The overall effect on first time visitors of the lovely surroundings, the sheer mass of beautiful objects and the lack of pushy salespeople, is one of wonder coupled with disbelief. The questions, when they are relaxing in the friendly coffee bar, are often similar: Where do they get it all from? How do people find M.D.Cannell Antiques and East India Trading? Why have I not come before? To which the answers are: all over, mostly by word of mouth, and at least you’re here now. If you haven’t been to Raveningham yet, give yourself and your home a treat. Finding Raveningham is easy - just take the A146 Beccles to Norwich road, exit at the A143 (Gillingham) roundabout, and follow the signs.
