Yarn Hill Barn, Iken (Sleeps 6)
Ideally located for visiting Snape and the coast at Aldeburgh and Orford, Yarn Hill Barn (sleeping 6) is a traditional Suffolk brick and beamed barn. Yarn Hill Barn has been lovingly converted to create a top quality holiday property with a large well-equipped farmhouse kitchen, open-plan sitting room (with doors opening onto a secluded sun-trap terrace for those lovely long summer evenings and for winter, a cosy coal burning stove), ground and upstairs bedrooms and bathrooms.
The outlook is stunning - England as it used to be! All windows look out over the garden and there are wonderful views over the open fields to the Alde River, a stunning expanse of water with sandy beach, sailing boats and a rich diversity of wildlife, whilst the fenced garden itself is delightful with well over half an acre of grassland and trees with terraces close to the house and a ditch with a tiny stream of water at the far end that the children will love exploring.
Alfred Lord Tennyson's great grandson, writer and historian Julian Tennyson, greatly admired Iken, recording it as a spot of beauty and amazement in his Suffolk Scene
in the 1930s. Iken 'beach' is only a twenty minute walk from Yarn Hill Barn. Snape Maltings, with its restaurants, pubs and year round programme of musical and arts events, is just around the corner - perfect for families and friends alike!Sleeps 6 - 1 King, 1 double, 1 twin bedroom
