The Cottage, Dennington
The Cottage, Dennington (sleeps 8) has prime position in The Square, just below the grand, 14th century Church of St Mary's; between the village green and one of Suffolk's best village pubs, The Dennington Queen
A seamless blend of cosy country cottage with contemporary open plan, this holiday home will suit a large family or group of friends looking to stay in a very pretty and much photographed rural Suffolk village. The sitting room has an open fire and views of the magnificent Church whilst the new galley kitchen and family snug have French windows leading onto the patio and lawned garden. Both the sitting room and snug have two generous sofas, so plenty of space for everyone to relax, watch TV or enjoy their own playlist on the iPod dock. There are four very comfortable bedrooms all with double beds and one with a stylish en-suite shower room.
Dennington boasts one of the oldest post offices in the country, and a fine and very intriguing church, which includes many interesting carvings, the most remarkable of which is a skiapod, a mythical African creature and a pyx - a receptacle for the Reserved Sacrament, which was attached to weights and pulleys so that the whole thing could be lowered when the sacrament for the sick or dying was required. Sleeps 8 - 4 double bedrooms.
