The Lowestoft Golf Club was founded in 1887 by a group of enthusiasts on the Denes in Lowestoft. Through the years, the club purchased more and more land to extend to course facilties. By 1975, the Rookery Estate had been purchased and opened in the late summer.
The parkland course is a challenging tree lined 18 holes including two ponds on the signature 8th hole. The course is open for 52 weeks a year, thanks to drainage.
'Our challenging parkland course presented by head green-keeper Mark Henderson and his team will provide a fair and enjoyable experience for all golfers, one Professional who played in the Suffolk Open Championship held here at Rookery Park, commented that this was the best inland course he had played.'
Rookery Park Golf Club also boasts one of the finest Driving Ranges in the area. Run by Ideal Golf Ltd, visitors and members can use the range from 8.00 am - 8.00 pm.
'Visitors are welcome to Rookery Park throughout the week and can look forward to an excellent round of golf, followed by some superb food from our catering team. Please read our rules on dress and handicap certificates (on the website), to ensure your visit runs as smoothly as possible.'
