The Hall is a listed and much-loved Georgianised 16th century hall farmhouse, situated down a quiet farm drive, but within a few miles of historic Lavenham and Long Melford. It is peacefully surrounded by our working farm with ancient wildflower meadows and beautiful barns, walled garden, hedged countryside and historic landscape. We have beautiful period furniture, tapestries, full bookshelves, maps to borrow, a walled garden to wander in and, beyond, our farm with wildflower meadows, Norman castle earthworks, woodland, ponds and tracks to explore ... and a woodburner to enjoy on a winter’s evening.
We can offer b&b for up to six guests in three beautiful, spacious bedrooms in the hall farmhouse in a relaxed family atmosphere: the huge Adams Room designed in 1770 as an upstairs ladies sitting room with king-sized bed and single and room to do cartwheels, the also huge Gallery Room with twin queen-sized beds and a giant bookcase heaving with books, and the Becker Room twin housing more than 20 Harry Becker drawings and etchings of Suffolk countryside and 19thcentury farmworkers. Enjoy a delicious breakfast of bantams eggs, home-grown sausages and fruit compote in the large sunny hall living room. We are hugely aware of our responsibilities to the environment and our green policy guides much of our approach to what we offer our guests – home grown food, bikes to borrow, environmentally friendly activity ideas, woodburner heating, solar-powered electricity and lots more!
