we have been coming here for over 10 years,and the place is just the same-simple suroundings,good,friendly service,and superb simple VERY fresh fish and seafood,if you are into very complicated food with fancy sauces etc. then,sadly this is not the place for you.

Poorly presented - oyster plonked on a plate without ice and just a tiny lemon wedge but tasteless and some so grossly over-sized my wife could not finish what is one of her favourite dishes - the two miserly Dover soles each which were dry and over-cooked - a half-bottle of barely-chilled white wine - this served by a half-hearted, disinterested waitress. What you might expect for £9.95 in a pub but this cost us £55 - we didn't chance the puddings or coffee but left. Very disappointing and not at all up to the standard of so many superb Suffolk restaurants which one can choose from with far better quality for less ££! A poor effort...(5th May 2009)

The format has remained unchanged here for many years. The rather basic eating areas are part of the appeal, and the extensive range of smoked & fresh seafood dishes are delicious, though I'm not sure that the fish pie (excellent) needs serving with potatoes. The wine list is good too. The service can be erratic and less than enthusiastic at times.

The Griddled prawns were really quite bland but the samphire was delious.The service was very good bearing mind how busy they were.
