Kensington Gardens
Kensington Gardens

A lovely warm and calm morning for October so I made the most of it and strolled very slowly to work via Pakefield Church and Kensington Gardens. There was a flock of 30 odd Greenfinch with one Goldfinch on the cliff below the Jolly Sailors. Walking through Kensington Gardens the smell of fallen leaves was strong and that together with the high pitched calls of Goldcrest is highly evocative of the autumn season. There were at least 3 Goldcrest and also Dunnock, Wren, Robin, Great Tit all flitting about, busy feeding in the sycamores. A 1st winter Pied Flycatcher stood out instantly from the crowd as it performed acrobatics, chasing insects around the branches and making small forays out beyond the foliage. I may well pop back at lunchtime.
