This is Halloween: Events on the Suffolk Coast


Wherever you’re staying in Suffolk this October Half Term, there are plenty of events to keep the kids (and the adults) entertained! From Horrible History walks to pumpkin picking, Visit Suffolk have rounded up the best of the bunch so you don’t have to. Prepare to get spooky!

Felixstowe Glow Walk

Come and join East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH) on a spooktacular 2-mile walk along the Felixstowe promenade, with entertainment, treats and surprises along the way - all whilst raising money for a good cause! Starting and finishing at Felixstowe Leisure Centre, the £6 per child entrance fee includes special light up head boppers, face painting, a medal, hot chocolate and a disco for teeny boppers at the leisure centre after the walk. Fancy dress is optional, but prizes will be awarded to the best dressed walkers.

When?  Saturday 29th October 2016 at 5.30pm.

Where? Felixstowe Leisure Centre, Undercliff Road West, Felixstowe, Suffolk, IP11 2AE

Who? Suitable for all the family, but an event that younger children especially will love.

How much? Children (under 16's) - £6, Adults (16 +) - £2. Free for children under 2.

Languard Spooky Day

Felixstowe Museum welcomes back its popular Languard Spooky Day, promising a fun-packed afternoon of gentle chills and thrills for the kids! Suitable for children aged 2-12 years, there will be an afternoon full of activities to get stuck into, including a ‘spooky’ magic show with Steff and Nonsense, Beach Bonkers crafts, face-painting and a quiz trail. The Museum will be decorated fittingly in spooky-style, and children are encouraged to come in their best fancy dress with prizes to be won.

When?  Saturday 22 October from 12pm-4pm.

Where? Felixstowe Museum, View Point Road, Felixstowe IP11 3TW

Who? This event is suitable for children aged 2-12 years. Younger or older children may attend at their parent's discretion. Children aged one and under free. All children must be accompanied by an adult.

How much? Tickets are £7.00 for children, £2.00 for adults. Children aged one and under free. All activities included in the one price. NOTE: You MUST book in advance!

Little Fort of Horrors

Do you dare to enter the Landguard Fort after dark? This Halloween, the Fort will be transformed into the “URE” (Undead Research Establishment), where visitors are invited to explore the facility following an unexpected “zombie outbreak” in Felixstowe. Come prepared to expect a scary evening of fun and entertainment, with live scarers lurking around each corner!

When?  Saturday 29th October from 7pm-11pm.

Where? Landguard Fort, View Point Road, Felixstowe, IP11 3TW

Who? Suitable for ages 13+. All young people must be accompanied by an adult. Please note that the event is NOT suitable for young children, and there is no admittance for those under 13 years of age.

How much? Adults and Young People (aged 13-18 years) £8.00, Family Ticket (two adults and two young people) £30.00. You MUST pre-book in advance for this event: please follow the link here.

Entrance to the facility walk through is by ''timed ticket'', with 30 minute arrival slots between 7pm and 11pm.

Halloween Family Monster Ball

The Dolphin Inn at Thorpeness is set to host a fangtastic Halloween Family Monster Ball; dress in your most frightening get up and meet with fellow monsters, witches and wizards, and feast on a delicious finger buffet dinner in the spookily-decorated function room. After the feast, dance the night away to favourites from the 70s to the present day - not forgetting the Monster Mash!

When?  Saturday 29th October from 6.30pm - midnight.

Where? Thorpeness Country Club, The Benthills, Thorpeness, Suffolk, IP16 4NU.

Who? Suitable for all the family!

This Halloween Half Term, Southwold’s Maize Maze will be home to 10 spooky, but cutesy, characters - locate them all to win a prize! If you complete the maze, fear not - there are plenty of other activities to keep you occupied, including ghoulish pedal go karts, a fortune-telling witch and hands-on theatre in the haunted marquee. Get into the spirit and come along in fancy dress, with daily prizes for the best costume!

When?  Open every day 22nd-31st October 2016, 10am - 5:30pm. Last entry 4:00pm.

There will also be a late maze opening on 29th/30th/31st till 6:30pm (last entry 5pm) -  make sure to bring along a torch!
